Community College of Philadelphia is seeking to fill an Administrative Support Specialist position. Under the direction of the Dean, the Administrative Support Specialist serves as a resource on procedural, administrative and operational issues, while providing high-level administrative support to the Dean, Assistant Dean and department heads within the Liberal Studies division. Primary responsibilities include the administration and coordination of divisional reporting, data management and information gathering. This position requires professionalism, critical thinking, and problem-solving.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associates degree required.

• Two (2) years of high-level office operations/administration experience or related work experience required.

• Strong attention to detail and developed critical thinking skills required.

• Ability to demonstrate flexibility and initiative required.

• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills required.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills required.

• Advanced level proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel; intermediate level proficiency using Microsoft PowerPoint required.

• Ability to maintain sensitivity, understanding and respect for a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty, and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological, and ethnic backgrounds required.


Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred. Any and all degree(s) must be from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning.

• Previous work experience within higher education preferred.

• Previous experience using Banner preferred.

• Previous experience using a website content management system preferred.
