Job Summary: The Associate Product Manager will serve as the Internal Product Champion. In addition, the Associate Product Manager will carry out the strategic direction of assigned Product lines and will serve as an integral member of the assigned product line Management Team.

Duties and Essential Job Functions:
  • Responsible for managing and sustaining product line development activities.
  • The APM has primary responsibility for management of activity that is directly related to the product itself. This includes:
    • Sales and Customer Support.
    • Surgical Case Observation and coverage when necessary.
    • Participation in cadaver based training and product development labs.
    • Product training, including curriculum planning and presentation.
    • Development of product related collateral materials (surgical techniques, brochures, models, product bulletins, videos, etc.)
    • Product Communication, to sales force and customers. This includes newsletters, electronic media, voicemail, group mailings, etc)
    • Management of individual product-focused projects (prioritization of engineering work, product definitions, etc.)
    • Inventory management and control in conjunction with operations.
    • Tracking and evaluation of product performance.
    • Representation of products at trade shows.
    • Communicate product updates.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with surgeons and sales reps.
  • Analyze competitive product strategy, positioning and promotion.
  • Analyze sales and profit reports and recommend program changes concerning advertising, promotion, and sales methods in order to optimize profit.
  • Keep abreast of competition relative to their position in pricing, new products and new market developments, advertising, product acceptance, and customer opinion.
  • Manage trouble-shooting and product difficulties to determine ongoing product problems, etc.
  • Primary responsibility for work at the financial planning and strategic and business management level is assigned at Product Manager Level or higher. These responsibilities may be delegated to APM as deemed appropriate by the manager.

Required Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or similar area of study.

Physical Requirements:
  • Able to frequently lift up to 25lb and occasionally up to 50lb.
  • Able to travel up to 20% of the time.
