Data is at the heart of Zendesk's business and this is a transformational opportunity where you can have a huge impact across all products in the the Zendesk product family. The data platform team is responsible for implementing a globally distributed reporting and analytics system that uses state of the art cloud technologies that span Google Cloud Platform and Amazon web services . As a data architect you will drive the design of this analytics platform, develop data schemas, identify scaling issues early and architect solutions around them. You will work closely with the business to negotiate product features, and proactively advocate & educate colleagues in good software engineering practices and data driven development. A Staff Engineer is typically the "go-to" person for data architecture within the company, and will potentially be the voice of "data" in engineering leadership forums in the company.

What you bring to the role:
  • Development experience with Google's Cloud Dataflow or Apache Beam preferred, or experience in similar technologies like Spark Streaming, Apache Storm, or Google MillWheel
  • Experience designing and implementing successful streaming data processing systems in production
