Duties & Responsibilities

As a member of the senior management team, the CS Director of Accounting Operations / Controller reports to the CS Managing Director & CFO and teams with the CS Director of Budgets/Financial Analysis and CS Director of Procurement to align the CS financial and administrative strategies with those of the CS Operating Unit Managing Directors, the VP of Campus Services and University leadership. The position is responsible for all CS accounting functions, processes and procedures that support the diverse CS businesses within the University environment. The position manages a team of professional and administrative personnel responsible for day to day CS general ledger accounting (balance sheet, operating income/expenses and non-operating transfers/fund accounting), capital accounting, billing/accounts receivable, payroll and disbursements/accounts payable. The position has responsibility for CS internal controls, risk management processes, tax matters and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), University and CS accounting/financial polices and applicable federal/state regulations. The position has responsibility to ensure the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of CS Financial and Administrative unit and to advise, counsel and recommend on all aspects of financial matters across the CS and University organization.

Basic Qualifications
BA/BS required. CPA and/or Master's degree required. 15+ years related progressive financial leadership experience with strong organizational, analytical, communication and management skills necessary. Experience with not-for-profit accounting and FASB standards and strong command of enterprise resource planning and financial and operational systems. Experience in data management, systems implementation, financial analysis and redesign of business processes required.

Additional Qualifications
Experience in one or more CS "industries" (commercial/residential real estate, dining/hospitality services, transportation, environmental health/safety, facility management, energy/sustainability, emergency planning) is preferred.
