Responsibilities:

 

The Department of Health Sciences at Northeastern University (http://www.northeastern.edu/bouve/health-sciences) seeks a full-time, non-tenure-track academic year faculty appointment as either an assistant/associate/full teaching professor or Professor of the Practice, in biostatistics, statistics, or a closely-related field. We are seeking candidates with demonstrated excellence in teaching to bring innovative and effective pedagogical methods for biostatistics courses and the potential to mentor undergraduate and graduate students. Candidates are also expected to engage in collaborative research with colleagues throughout the College. This position will involve expanding Northeastern University's existing teaching and research portfolio within doctoral programs in population health and personal health informatics, master's degree programs in public health, health informatics, and health data analytics, and undergraduate joint degree programs and initiatives in health sciences. Candidates are also expected to mentor graduate students, including serving on dissertation committees. Engaging in interdisciplinary research collaborations within and beyond the university is strongly encouraged. This appointment is closely tied to the University's strategic academic plan, Northeastern 2025 (http://www.northeastern.edu/academic-plan/).

 

Qualifications:

 

A doctoral degree by the start date of the position in biostatistics, statistics or a closely-related field is required. Applicants must have a strong track record of teaching biostatistics courses and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with researchers. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
