Research Assistant

JOB SUMMARY

The Research Assistant is assigned to carry out specific research related to a specific project. The position will be responsible for a range of tasks, depending on the nature of the project, including recruiting participants, arranging focus groups, administering surveys, tallying results, tracking grant progress, data collection, literature reviews, obtaining informed consent, IRB applications and updates, basic data analysis, coordination and other tasks as assigned.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works under general supervision of Director of Research and Evaluation, WQI
  • Collects data
  • Performs basic data analysis
  • Interviews potential research subjects
  • Writes technical reports detailing procedures, outcomes, and observations.
  • Obtains informed consent
  • Administers surveys
  • Utilizes established mathematical and scientific techniques to compile and analyze data
  • Organizes team meetings and focus groups
  • Performs library/online research/pubmed searches
  • Assists with grant report writing and organization of grant submissions
  • Completes electronic health record chart audits/data collection
  • Develops Power Point presentations
  • Assists in developing grant reports
  • Manages databases to ensure integrity of data and compliance with research protocols
  • Programs and runs Microsoft Access reports

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline

  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures related to public health research

WORK SCHEDULE DEMANDS

  • Full-time, with occasional mornings, evenings and weekends as needed.
