Sr. Business Intelligence Architect - Decision Support (Sacramento) (Full Time)

Description:

The Sr. Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for making recommendations to the Business Intelligence Manager (BIM) and the Director of Decision support (DS), for the architecture, infrastructure, and research & development in new technologies for Decision Support.  The Sr. Business Intelligence Architect will work as a senior member of Decision Support’s Business Intelligence (BI) team. This includes formal modeling, in depth understanding and evolution of proprietary and third party frameworks and technologies, prototyping, analysis of project requirements to influence technical design at the project level to maintain consistent architecture vision.

 

The Sr. Business Intelligence Architect will be involved in all aspects of the project life cycle, from the initial kickoff through the requirements analysis, design and implementation. Primary responsibility of the BIA will be to work with the BI team to implement enterprise-level applications and system designs. The BIA works across several development teams to realize product architecture including; researching, analyzing, designing, proposing, and delivering solutions that are appropriate for the business and technology strategies. Additional responsibilities may include identification of major system interfaces and development of module reuse and components on an enterprise-wide scale.

 

Expectations include technical leadership and assistance with the specifications for the design patterns, development standards, best practices, coding styles and other development guidelines.

 
Qualification:

MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS\:

Education\:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Health Care Administration, or other related field is required. 

Experience\:

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in database administration, report development, custom software or scripting development, and web-based technologies is required.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in client/server environment.
  • Experience managing and/or supporting projects, project planning and coordination of resources.
  • Software Support experience in the healthcare industry is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with IDX data structure and analysis is strongly preferred.
  • A combination of education, training, application software support, installation projects and experience in a healthcare related field is preferred

Knowledge\:

·         Deep and broad understanding of databases, data structures, platforms, and technologies.

·         Thorough understanding of database administration, replication, T-SQL, developing tables, views, stored procedures, triggers and constraints in a MS SQL Server setting.

·         Strong Development skills in object oriented programming including supporting scripting languages for MS based frameworks or products.

·         Knowledge of Data warehousing concepts, development, and ETL processes.

·         Solid understanding of reporting tools such as MS Access, Crystal Reports

·         Conceptual understanding of Business Intelligence Reporting Tools such as , Cognos Impromptu, Business Objects, Microsoft Analysis Services

·         Knowledge of Healthcare industry concepts including Managed Care line of business, Provider Organizations, and Claims/Encounters processing.

·         Knowledge of Windows operating systems and MS Office tools/applications.

  • Knowledge of Client/Server concepts and how they work within network environments.
  • Knowledge of healthcare coding standards including ICD-9 Diagnosis, Procedure Codes, and RVU’s.
  • Extensive experience working in a financial and productivity reporting environment.
