Associate Vice President, Strategy and Analytics - S00425FY18



The Associate Vice President of Strategy and Analytics is a new role not only to Texas A&M University but also to higher education. The role will be a critical part of the Texas A&M University (TAMU) marketing leadership team with engagement at the most senior levels across the university and in collaboration with the Texas A&M University System.


This person will be responsible for supporting the University’s senior leadership team in creating meaningful short and long-term strategies in support of the mission of Texas A&M University as a world-class university. The role is responsible for harnessing marketing information available through various memberships and other channels to inform decisions around current issues management and future planning, recruitment, retention and brand enhancement.


The position requires someone with exceptional interpersonal, leadership and analytical skills. The role will be one of collaboration with the Office of the Provost, Office of the President, Division of Student Affairs, Colleges and affiliate organizations (The Texas A&M Foundation, The Association of Former Students, the 12th Man Foundation and the George H.W. Bush Library Foundation).


Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing and Communications Officer for TAMU, the Associate Vice President of Strategy and Analytics will be viewed throughout the TAMU marketing organization, TAMU and TAMU System as a key strategic planning, including SWOT analysis with regard to today’s and tomorrow’s issues. The person will be responsible for ensuring that strategies and data gathering and dissemination engage a variety of stakeholders in a thoughtful, impactful way.



Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, political science, communications or closely related field. Ten years of experience in roles that require research, analytics and strategy.

Strong analytical skills and ability to assemble and interpret data, draw larger conclusions and make recommendations about protecting and enhancing the brand. Strong project management skills and ability to structure and prioritize work in a manner that best fits the team and university needs. Ability to create and implement strategic plans. Executive presence, specifically ability to work with leadership at the University and other organizations. Requires ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others. Experience collaborating and partnering across matrixed organizations. Extensive experience gathering and analyzing marketing campaigns and developing strategies.

Travel and work hours outside of normal business hours required.
