JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Leads all phases of the claims process from intake, oversight of our Third-Party Administrator claims adjuster, filing and managing OCIP and Builder’s Risk Construction insurance claims including but not limited to coordination with Third Party Administrator claims adjusters, legal counsel, internal stakeholders, and other involved parties.

JOB DESCRIPTION

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Claims Review and Incident Management:
    • Review incidents and assess each claim for validity and relevance.
    • Report claims promptly, ensuring all pertinent details are captured.
  • Communication with Stakeholders:
    • Reach out to projects to provide guidance on the claims process.
    • Gather any additional information required to expedite the claims process.
    • Assist teams in developing proof of loss documents, including Rough Order Magnitude estimates, incurred cost back up, delay narratives, etc.
  • Claims Correspondence: 
    • Send out claim-related communications, including severity letters.
    • Analyze coverage and reservation of rights and/or coverage declination letters.
    • Manage invoicing and accounting tasks associated with claims processing.
  • Claim Tracking and Reporting:
    • Manage incident reporting, claim tracking and loss reports from carriers through the RMIS system, Origami
    • Create PowerBI dashboards and executive reporting for communication on claim activity.
    • Enhance usage of RMIS and assist in data links / transfer between other Greystar applications
    • Ensure all incidents and related items such as photos, statements, videos, and other relevant documents are collected and stored. Stay involved in “severe” or “high priority” incidents.
    • Escalate high-priority or emergency concerns to appropriate Sr. Director of Claims
    • Partner with claims adjusters to facilitate the claims process through to closure.
    • Partner with consultants and broker claims advocates
    • Manage internal and external communications related to incidents.
    • Oversee the administrative aspects associated with all construction litigation.
    • The position may require some travel for training, mediation, and/or trials.

BASIC KNOWLEDGE & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related fields.
  • Minimum 3 years claims handling experience, preferably focusing on construction
  • Experience with Builder’s Risk and Casualty coverage, including wrap-up programs preferred
  • Familiar with RMIS systems, specifically Origami
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Power Point Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Flexibility for occasional business travel.

  • Corporate Positions: In addition to the base salary, this role may be eligible to participate in an annual bonus program based on individual and company performance.
  • Onsite Property Positions: In addition to the base salary, this role may be eligible to participate in weekly, monthly, and/or quarterly bonus programs.
