Under the direction of the Financial Controller, the Senior Cost Accountant will be responsible for the accurate and timely calculation of product and component standard costs as well as period-end inventory reports and related journal entries. Requires understanding of manufacturing standard cost systems and attention to detail. Requires frequent interaction with various levels of personnel in accounting and other departments of the company.


Review bills of materials and routings for completeness and usability in an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system
Compile and analyze trend metrics for monitoring manufacturing effectiveness and profitability.
Compile cost data for quarterly standard labor and overhead standard cost calculations for each manufacturing process by location.
Analyze manufacturing variance accounts and prepare management summaries.
Review raw material standard costs and make appropriate updates on a quarterly basis.
Review monthly cycle count reports for large variances. Monitor inventory transactions for large quantities and errors and report to management.
Review monthly Excess and Obsolete Inventory Report and calculate reserve adjustments.
Reconcile perpetual to G/L inventory balances on a monthly basis. Prepare journal entries.
Manage the co-ordination of the physical inventories.
Support month end closing process - standard journal entries.
Monthly reconciliation process.
Assist with cost accounting and inventory issues, reporting and analysis.
Generate and provide analysis of monthly gross margin.
Perform other duties as assigned.

BS degree with a major in accounting or equivalent
5+ years experience within a manufacturing environment with demonstrated knowledge of general accounting and cost accounting principles
Strong demonstrated skills in excel, database extraction and manipulation
Be able to work in a team environment and have strong interpersonal
Experience with Internal Audit and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements in relation to Cost Accounting and Inventory Control.
