Community College of Philadelphia is seeking to fill an Editorial and Administrative Assistant - Technical Craft Specialist B position. The Editorial and Administrative Assistant - Technical Craft Specialist B provides proofreading and editing support to the Marketing and Creative Services offices for College publications, website, newsletters and emails. This position provides support for public relations tasks including coordinating monthly news mentions and maintaining the College's news webpage. Other Responsibilities include planning and scheduling photo and video shoots, making minor content edits to the department's web pages, and general administrative and clerical support, such as answering phones, filing, processing invoices, creating purchase orders, ordering supplies, maintaining publication storage areas, etc.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent coursework required. Any and all degree(s) must be from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning.

• Five (5) or more years of related work experience involving proofreading, editing, and administrative support within a publishing, communications, marketing or related field required.

• Demonstrated advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational skills required.

• Must be capable of juggling multiple assignments without losing sight of details and deadlines is required.

• Demonstrated professionalism and interpersonal skills to interact well with various internal and external constituents is required.

• An understanding of, and sensitively to, the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds of a community college staff and students required.


Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.

• Demonstrated proficiency using PowerPoint preferred.

• Working knowledge of Macintosh computer operating system and desktop publishing software preferred.

• Familiarity with AP Style preferred.
