Description

As a Water/Wastewater Field Engineer based in the Bay area, you will work on complex water and wastewater projects and be responsible for planning, organizing and controlling various elements of the project.
The successful candidate will perform tasks related to the collection of cost data required to monitor project budget and estimates and management of subcontractors.

This position requires successful candidate to be familiar with piping and process systems and materials related to the construction of water & wastewater projects. The incumbent will have good knowledge of submittal and scheduling requirements and understand the planning needed to construct a successful water/wastewater project

Responsibilities
  • Reviews project plans and proposals, then works with management to develop project objectives. Identifies project responsibilities by determining the phases and elements of the project. Calculates time frames and sequences the stages of the project.
  • Manages subcontract administration and permanent material supplier through monitoring of correspondence, issue change orders and pay sheet
  • Prepares, updates and distributes project schedule
  • Tracks quantities (material/labor) for payment and cost purposes
  • Code daily labor, purchase orders, subcontractor invoices, costs, quantities, actual expenditures, etc. for tracking in cost system
  • Calculates material/work quantity requirements (takeoffs); monitor progress, percentage complete per work item
  • Creates or assist in weekly meeting agenda and deliver, MPR, QF Reports, and Project Cash Flow
  • Prepares and manage submittals & RFI's and maintain all documentation to support the company's position for claims resolution
  • Updates and maintain project Baseline & Weekly schedules
  • Manages Permanent Material Acquisition (Inventory Upon Deliver, etc.)
  • Manages extra work process, change orders and claims management
  • Manages BRR's, JE's & Subcontracts CCO's
  • Prepares and/or assist with the preparation of DRB documents
  • Develops and manage relationships with owners, subcontractors, consultants and field personnel
  • Supports project with all technical matters and determine outside assistance when needed
  • Maintains a safe, clean and productive environment through enforcing procedures. Maintains project integrity and reputation through compliance with high standards of workplace safety and construction best practices

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management or related field from an accredited institution or equivalent training and experience is required.
  • 3+ years of experience working on complex water and wastewater treatment plants with strong knowledge of process, piping and treatment systems.
  • Experience on water and/or wastewater projects is required.
  • Understanding of various types of structures, process systems, start-up, testing and commissioning requirements associated with water and/or wastewater projects.
  • Ideally, you will have experience on Wastewater Projects with primary, secondary, tertiary treatment process, along with Filtration, Ozone, RO, and UV Systems associated with Water Treatment Projects.
  • A strong working knowledge of P6 is preferred, with understanding of Cost & Resource Loading.
