Duties & Responsibilities
  • Manage the life-cycle of the content on the Hiphop Archive Portal and related websites.
  • Analysis and classification of existing content and identify content gaps.
  • Create information architecture scheme for new content and functionality
  • Design and execute new website features, overall design guidelines, template protocols.
  • Select efficient technological solutions
  • Development and maintenance of the web site's visual appearance to ensure a consistent compelling branded experience for users.
  • Plan and implement ongoing updates and or new additions/updates
  • Establish protocols for collaborative content and resource development from other providers - both within the working group and for the outside community
  • Interact with outside vendors for integration of back-end database driven solutions as necessary
  • End user usability testing
  • Train HipHop Archive staff on use of new features, if necessary.

Basic Qualifications
Three or more years of experience required.

Experience with:
  • Drupal
  • Web development best practices

Additional Qualifications
  • LAMP stack
  • Javascript/CSS/HTML
  • Proficiency in the development and application of multimedia web delivery technologies, such as audio/video streaming, iTunes, QuickTime, Youtube,Vimeo etc.
  • Solid familiarity with latest design and development software, including content management systems, and other web industry standards/trends.
  • Consistent execution and application of creative designs/layouts.
  • Expertise in design and publishing tools: Adobe Photoshop and raw HTML.
  • Strong understanding of web browser rendering differences, and basic understanding of web accessibility.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and project management skills are required.
  • Close attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines is a must.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Ability to work effectively alone, as a team member, or team lead of a cross functional team from multiple disciplines.
