The Integrated Designer I is part of a creative team that serves both the Undergraduate and the Professional Advancement Network Enrollment Marketing & Communications Departments. Working under the Design Manager, the Junior Integrated Designer, is responsible for translating strategic marketing goals into end-products that visually align with the Northeastern University value proposition, brand guidelines and best practices for achieving results.


This position supports high volume marketing teams that requires quality work delivered in a timely manner, while participating in the planning, design, development and production of a variety of projects with input and suggestions from the larger creative team. Using a keen eye for design, typography, layout, color and a basic understanding of user interface and user experience best practices, the Junior Integrated Designer works on a variety of creative projects including, but not limited to, print collateral, direct mail, packaging, signage, digital assets, and web projects. This position requires collaboration with subject matter experts and a clear understanding of brand and messaging guidelines to transfer objectives for an initiative into clear, actionable, concise design work for various personae.


The successful candidate will have the ability to integrate a broad set of creative disciplines while approaching each project with creative thinking, critical analysis and problem-solving skills. The candidate should demonstrate flexibility/adaptability and be comfortable in a rapidly changing environment with competing and shifting priorities. Major responsibilities for this role include managing and producing a large volume of design change requests.




• Bachelor’s Degree (B.S. or B.F.A) in Graphic Designer or related field required.


• Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in both print and with web/interactive assets.


• Solid understanding of graphic design, typographic hierarchy, brand standards, print production, basic UX/UI principles, design industry standards and trends, platform and browser capabilities and limitations and digital asset specifications.


• Advanced knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator CC, InDesign CC, and Photoshop CC), Microsoft Office (Outlook, Powerpoint, Word, and Excel), Sketch, and prototyping software such as Invision or Axure.


• General knowledge in pre-press, printing, and Web standards.


• Proficiency with IT platforms including Macintosh, Microsoft Windows and leading Web browsers.


• Be self-motivated, self-critical, open-minded, creative, and interested in working in a collaborative and communicative environment.


• Strong time management skills, high level of attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, and strong organizational skills.


• Solid communication and presentation skills with the ability to present creative rationales.
