Duties & Responsibilities
The Workforce Planning and Talent Mobility office is Harvard's central strategic arm that designs, develops and implements inclusive university-wide best practices around the identification and growth of talent at all levels of the organization. In addition, this function represents the university as one employer to the external marketplace for a variety of university-wide recruitment systems, policies and external partnerships. Reporting to the Director of Workforce Planning and Talent Mobility, and in close partnership with the HR Deans and Directors of all schools and units, the Internal Talent Consultant is responsible for the strategic development, oversight and execution of career development programs and initiatives that foster/support internal mobility for entry to mid-level roles in the University.

The duties and responsibilities of the Internal Talent Consultant include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Develops and manages career development services to support staff's development and professional growth for entry to mid-level roles in the university.
  • Design and develop course content including, but not limited to, measurable learning objectives, scenarios, simulations, progress checks, performance evaluations, and knowledge assessments.
  • Create and develop curricula and training materials targeting skill and employment gaps in the areas such as, but not limited to, business writing, professionalism, interpersonal skills, life skills, technological, and employability skills.
  • Serves as instructor for various professional development courses for entry and mid-level roles.
  • Supports the outreach and marketing efforts to market the Career and Professional Development Program, including course offerings and internships to potential interns and internship host sites to ensure their visibility and success, including site visits, presentations and printed marketing material.
  • Collaborates with Senior Internal Talent Consultant to determine the ideal participant match or placement of both external and internal Professional Internships, based on Career and Professional Development student evaluations, student interests and host site needs.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business, organizational development, or equivalent required. Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience. Expert knowledge of the career development field. The incumbent must have demonstrated experience as an instructor in Adult Learning environments, as well as prior experience providing consulting services in the areas of strategic career development and workforce planning. Ability to work independently on complex projects and collaboratively on a team is essential.
