In this position you will work under limited direction research, design and perform software development in various aspects of general IP network security for both classified and unclassified programs.

Roles and Responsibilities:


  • Develop research solutions to challenging cyber security and computer networking problems.
  • Design, implement and test embedded software solutions as an individual or as part of a small team.
  • Architect and design IP networks for various programs.
  • Identify and evaluate security strengths and weaknesses.
  • Principle customer contact to collaborate in identifying new challenges to resolve.
  • Identify, create and propose new research projects.
  • Travel to other LGS locations or customer sites as necessary.
  • Understand and adhere to all LGS Ethical and Compliance policies.
  • Proactively ensure a safe work environment and adhere to LGS EH&S policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • Obtain/retain a government security clearance at the level to perform the duties of the position.
  • Design and develop Linux based multi-threaded application software for IP/MPLS technologies as well as non-3GPP and 3GPP based wireless technologies.
  • Present and demonstrate to customers.




To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:


  • BA in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering and 6-8 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience.
  • Computer science and networking background including knowledge in IP networking, cyber security and software development.
  • Strong software development skills and demonstrated experience in current languages such as C, C++, JAVA.


Preferred Qualifications:


Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:


  • Experience in ROTS: VxWorks, RTLinux, LynxOS, etc.
  • System architecture and design of secure communications platforms, both conventional and wireless (e.g., PSTN, ISP, UMTS, LTE).
