We are currently looking for a Principal Consultant II to join our National Security Advisory Practice in the Atlanta area.


The Principal Consultant II designs and delivers best-in-class technology solutions for Forsythe clients. The Principal Consultant II contributes to the development and evaluation of junior personnel via apprenticeship and QA activities to ensure efficient operation of the function. This position is responsible for meeting team financial objectives through efficient SOW delivery and early escalation of potential change requests.

Primary Duty

  • Set strategic direction to establish near term goals for area of responsibility.
  • Define client needs and oversee project milestones to ensure expectations, timelines, and budgets are met.
  • Accountable for the overall quality of project deliverables and the successful design and delivery of multiple solutions.
  • Identify and qualify follow-on opportunities and engage senior leadership.
  • Establish procedures and recommend changes to policies that have a positive impact on the organization(s) and/or delivery team.

Client Development

  • Regularly interact with senior level management at client site or within Forsythe, which involves negotiating or influencing others on matters of significance.
  • Build long-term, superior client relationships and proactively manage client expectations, and ensure that change control is used when scope boundaries are exceeded.

Professional Development

  • Maintain a strong network and promote the organization at various meetings, forums, panels, publications, and conferences. Begin to establish thought leadership in the industry.
  • Maintain technical certifications and attend training sessions to refine consultative skills.
  • Responsible for oversight and apprentice training of junior resources as assigned in the field.
  • Security is every employee’s responsibility, if you are aware of a security related vulnerability or non-compliance with the Forsythe Information Security Policy or Employee Handbook you must report it to the Corporate Security Team, Human Resources, or a member of Senior Management.
  • Participate at hire and annually in the Information Security Awareness training as well as other required training identified by the Human Resources department. HIPAA or other regulatory training may be required based on your role or assignment.


  • Required: BA/BS 4 year College Degree in engineering, computer science or technology related field; or 6 years equivalent industry experience
  • Desired: MA/MS College Degree in technology management


  • CISSP required
  • CISM, CHS, or equivalent preferred
  • ISO 27001 Lead Auditor preferred
  • Program/Project Management Professional (PgMP/PMP) or equivalent preferred


  • Threat Assessment Programs.
  • Strong experience with Encryption.
  • Security administration and operations: Network Security, Endpoint Security, Data Protection, Threat Management, GRC.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage highly technical staff
  • Demonstrated ability to assess and architect complex security solutions in the designated practice using procedures, scripts, and templates
  • Demonstrated ability to building new methodologies, technologies, tools, and approaches to deliver quality security deliverables to diverse clients
  • Demonstrated top tier consulting expertise (gather requirements, problem solve and recommend) in mid-sized and Fortune 1000 customer environments
  • Demonstrated ability to generate significant follow-on service business due to service excellence and very high Customer Satisfaction levels
  • Demonstrated contracts and negotiation skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Strong selling and client presentation skills
  • Ability to assess multi-vendor IT environments, make recommendations, develop multi-year project roadmaps, conduct financial analysis and lead teams to implement solutions

  • Ability to travel up to 60-70% nationwide.

  • 10 years of IT security experience required
  • 4 years of client facing IT security consulting experience required within Fortune 1000 customer environments
  • 4 years of compliance experience with ISO, HIPAA, SOX, GLBA, or FISMA/NIST required
  • 4 years of supervisory experience managing teams in excess of three people required
  • 4 years of Big 4 consulting experience or equivalent preferred
  • Experience with security program policies, practices and procedures
  • Direct consulting experience involving the security and/or compliance of designated practice solutions at an enterprise level including but not limited to SIEM, DLP, GRC, Integrated Threat Management, Perimeter, Mobility, and Access Control.
  • Direct involvement in working with internal and external teams to consult, implement, and troubleshoot security product and services, preferably in areas of perimeter, data protection, compliance and/or eDiscovery.
  • At least 3 years of demonstrated presales experience: gathering client requirements, proposing technology solutions, writing Statements of Work or contracts, and winning technology services business
