The primary purpose of this role is to drive the execution of strategic programs for the business, which typically requires coordination of a cross-functional team and resource assignments, to ensure program completion on time to budget and meeting customer needs.

  • Support Solutions Management or other Allscripts Management by providing program management control on key initiatives, usually pertaining to developing and delivering solutions to market or to internal process improvement
  • Partner with Solution Management or Segment leader to define overall work breakdown structure, detailed tasks, and assess impacts on other projects. Facilitate cross-functional Program Team to define, estimate & schedule resources & program work to achieve program scope
  • Ensure adherence to common processes, such as the Product LifeCycle Management (PLM) process, and the Software Development LifeCycle (SDLC)
  • Provide a platform for communication and relationship management -- engage stakeholders for buy-in, relieve bottlenecks & complexity
  • Provide performance monitoring, information and reporting; help diagnose root cause of problems
  • Identify and escalate critical issues in timely manner
  • Alert stakeholders to potential scheduling risks, anticipated slippage, and take pre-emptive action to mitigate
  • Ensure teams are taking corrective action as necessary to deliver complete scope, desired quality and timeliness of strategic programs
  • Keep team apprised via project plans, meetings and discussion minutes of project tasks identified, tasks to be completed, and work not completed
  • Create and manage a virtual team; communicating with all team members to ensure they understand their responsibilities and deliverables
  • Identify resource needs and competencies
  • Set and communicate team/individual responsibilities
  • Raise concerns timely to leadership regarding mismatch on required project team member's competencies
  • Allocate work load to fully utilize every program team member's talent
  • Create team spirit

Academic and professional qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or relevant business/information technology experience
  • PMP or PMI-ACP Certification required
  • Strong and demonstrable project management skills; including influencing, communications and tracking skills, and planning and organization
  • Lean Six Sigma or other special certifications helpful
  • In-depth knowledge of project and program management methodologies, tools and techniques
  • Solid leadership, organization and communication skills
  • Solid ability to collaborate with individual contributors and business leaders to define business process issues, analyse operational efficiencies, implement creative solutions and measure delivery results
  • Strong conviction in the role pf program management and willingness to take on challenges
  • Solid understanding of corporate environment and business metrics, with ability to propose solutions for their achievement

  • 7+ years of application software implementation experience along with 5+ years of acute industry experience
  • Experience with Allscripts Sunrise Application
  • 5+ years of relevant project management experience
  • Prior experience as part of a management team (lead role with plan, resources and issue/change responsibilities) that successfully managed a full life-cycle implementation
  • Demonstrated experience in managing multiple concurrent project and ability to define work breakdown on complex projects
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting business development opportunities through proposal creation, review and presentation
Travel Requirements:
  • Occasional as warranted by project work
  • Frequency will vary depending on project requirements

Working Arrangements:
  • Work is performed in a standard office environment with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards
  • Substantial time is spent working on a computer, having meetings and on conference calls
