Pay Range

$82,700.00-$113,700.00 Annual

This is the base salary pay range that an applicant can expect to make upon hire.   Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors. In addition, this position is eligible for an incentive bonus. 

Position Overview:

The Quality Engineer will be responsible for quality assurance documentation, support, analysis and reports that are necessary to assess progress against goals and to enable data driven decisions at a manufacturing facility.

Your Day-to-Day:

  • Proactively investigate reasons for non-conformances and/or improvement in product quality which will include a firm understanding of customer CTQ's, manufacturing process capability, and development of a finished product specification
  • Evaluate data of key product quality parameters to assess compliance to specifications, analyze trends for process aim and dispersion, and identify improvement opportunities before they cause issues with customers
  • Lead projects in continuous improvement process to increase product quality and reduce manufacturing costs as assigned by leadership
  • Support activities related to developing and maintaining a Quality Management System that is both ISO 9001 14001 certified
  • Support and ensure the identification of root cause and corrective actions related to customer claims and ensure they are adequately documented and shared
  • Maintain SAP master data related to inspection plans, specifications, and related activities to ensure accuracy and consistency with approved division specification documents
  • Maintain and Update quality documentation, including retrieval, access, control, and distribution for approvals
  • Generate and distribute quality management reports that provide information and analysis related to customer complaints and other operating metrics as requested by business leaders.
  • Conduct quality related audits (e.g. inspection plans documented in SAP vs. official documents, plant compliance and supplier compliance to specifications) as assigned by leadership
  • Facilitate resolutions between plants and customer service when discrepancies are identified that relate to plant assignments of customer claims
  • Identify opportunities and implement solutions that improve productivity (e.g. automation) related to repetitive activities involving quality reporting
  • Support engineering drawing reviews and oversee first article inspections for new parts and processes.
  • Facilitate periodic calibration for precision measurement equipment
  • May be required to perform other related duties as assigned

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering with a minimum of 5 years of quality experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Strong data analytics and interpretation abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Minitab
  • Ability to understand blueprints, machining symbols and geometric dimensions
  • Solid ability to multi-task and effectively manage competing priorities
  • Solid research skills including understanding of technical information, statistical interpretation, and the ability to translate and communicate such information to others
  • Familiarity with Quality related functions, quality systems and auditing
  • Solid collaboration skills — will interact with operations, tech service, sales, marketing, and IT personnel
  • Solid problem-solving skills
  • Solid interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in SAP preferred
  • Experience with ISO9001:2008 preferred
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to interface at all levels of the organization, both internally and externally
  • Minimal travel required (0 - 10 days per year)
