Peterson has an immediate need for an experienced Rental Sales Manager at our Portland, OR location. Working under general direction, manages and coordinates the activities and operations of the rental sales department and staff; develops and implements the rental business development strategy, sales plans and forecasts. Directs and supervises rental consultant/combo sales representatives and maintains liasison with customers and key industry and division personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and develop Rental Consultant sales competencies, territory management processes and CRM proficiency.
  • Identify and communicate key account prospects for each store location as well as for the entire territory with Peterson representatives & management. Make joint sales calls with rental consultants' to build relationships with customer's key decision makers responsible for rentals in multiple Peterson locations.
  • Identify key projects and prospects for the entire territory and make joint sales calls with rental consultants to maximize Peterson's market share.
  • Monitor each rental consultant's progress with key account and key projects and communicate each rental consultant's results with General Manager of Rental.
  • Communicate sale prices for all rental inventory following guidelines established by General Manager of Rental. Track all quotes in CRM.
  • Establish annual quotas for each Rental Consultant based on the rental division budget and track his/her results monthly.
  • Track lost rents in IRents for Rental Consultants and Coordinators and propose fleet additions to General Manager of Rental.
  • Create monthly rental revenue commission reports and communicate results with Rental Consultants and payroll.
  • Review, approve, maintain and communicate customer rate profiles.
  • Review book rental rates in connection with Rouse valuation services and propose changes that would provide increased profitability and utilization.
  • Coordinate sales blitzes, open house events and any applicable Caterpillar programs as required.
  • Responsibility for Rental Division Profit and Loss.
  • Coordination with Caterpillar National Accounts.


Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year College or University and five to seven years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess a thorough knowledge of customer base and have good knowledge of competitor's products. Knowledge of rental sales practices and procedures.
