As an Admin Assistant within the Macon-Bibb Health Department at the Georgia Department of Public Health, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting the lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways.
Job Responsibilities
Under general supervision, performs a variety of general secretarial, clerical, and administrative support functions/processes or a few specialized or essential clerical functions in support of a unit or office and related personnel. May enter data and/or process documents and records. The work includes operating standard office equipment. Work is performed under the general supervision of a clerical or administrative supervisor.
Job Duties
- Serves as a primary point of contact for the public when calling or entering the office
- Provides general clerical support including data entry/maintenance, copying, faxing documents
- Generates bulk billing for annual fees in regulated program areas
- Collects and enters accurate information for facilities and complaints
- Provides clerical support and excellent customer service to clients
- Receives and directs telephone calls and faxes accordingly
- Participate in all required training
- Helps with emergency preparedness response during declared emergencies
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma/GED and two (2) years of job-related experience.
Preferred Qualification:
- Proficiency in utilizing the Digital Health Department (DHD) platform
- Well-versed in Microsoft Office to include Excel

DPH accepts educational credentials recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the US Department of Education (DOE). DPH will contact educational institutions to verify degree, diploma, licensure, etc.
