Position is full time with hours are full time: Sunday 8am-6:30pm, Monday-Wednesday 8:30-7pm, working directly on our Wernersville Campus.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Meet with patients and their families and ensure admission is completed by following checklists for accuracy while displaying empathy, dignity and respect to the patient and their families.  
  • Upon meeting with patients, ensure that accurate documentation is completed including HIPAA, financial and billing documents, referral documentation, etc.  
  • Welcoming patients and families, utilizing customer service skills learned through internal and external trainings. 
  • Responsible for all admission, discharge, transfers for all Caron continuum in Sigmund and bed boards. 
  • Complete Breakthrough workshop assessment and financial screening and schedule patients for attendance at the workshop. 
  • Identify Breakthrough patients who need clinical screening prior to admission and gather CAST information for review. 
  • Educate all Breakthrough callers and utilize all financial options to fund their treatment investment to convert to an admission. 
  • Accurately identify all key stakeholders, e., referrals, donors, alumni and review all information gathered during the phone assessment. 
  • Manage all pending Breakthrough cases and complete follow-up as a team from initial contact to  
  • Document treatment plans, progress notes, treatment plan updates, case consultations, telephone calls and discharge summaries in the patient records in accordance with Caron policies and procedures 
  • Communicates effectively with patients, family members, referents, and internal customers- coworkers, leadership, neighboring department.  
  • Assist in training new staff and updating training manual, quick glance resources as necessary.  
  • May be responsible for covering the receptionist desk, cisco console, and pertinent operator duties as 
  • May be designated as software specialist for the department and take on training, data management and integrity of the data by the department as needed. Including new EMR rollout testing.

  • Ability to communicate verbally and in written form for 85% of the workday 
  • Ability to sit for 90% of the workday

  • Ability to walk the grounds to facilitate tours and physical job location will rotate. 
  • Ability to transfer luggage weighing up to 50 lbs. 
  • This is a safety sensitive position. 
  • Office setting: Maintaining professional workspace environment in shared locations  
  • Remote setting: maintain a home office space in a confidential area that is free of distraction and background noise. Maintain the privacy of Caron’s phone and computer systems when stepping away from the workspace or logging off. 

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • High school diploma or equivalent required 
  • One year of computer experience– Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, or similar software 
  • 1-year work experience in an office, preferably a healthcare setting 
  • Knowledge of drug & alcohol treatment or disease concept of addiction or 12 steps or knowledge of Al-anon helpful 
  • If in recovery, minimum of two years’ sobriety preferred. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  

  • Type 45 words per minute with 95% accuracy 
  • Knowledge of computer software systems and ability to use proficiently 
  • Customer service and detail oriented 
  • Ability to function independently 
  • Always maintain confidentiality and professionalism 
  • If in recovery, two years of continuous sobriety is preferred
