Job Summary
The University of Kentucky College of Public Health is currently seeking applications for an assistant, associate, or professor, research title series, 12-month appointment period, in the Department of Biostatistics. This Research Title Series position will provide methodological expertise for conducting collaborative biomedical research on interdisciplinary research teams facilitated by the “Center” (Biostatistics Consulting and Interdisciplinary Research Collaboration Lab). The position requires a candidate with the ability to balance the implementation of rigorous statistical methodology with the complex challenges of interdisciplinary biomedical research. The ideal candidate will have the ability to lead the methodological contributions of interdisciplinary biomedical research studies which may include designing studies, overseeing the generation and/or management of data, leading or conducting analyses, offering innovative methodological solutions, and interpreting empirical findings in a manner that is appropriate for the biomedical research community and the public.
This position will provide faculty liaison with multiple groups across the University of Kentucky to build effective team science in order to optimize data-driven discoveries.
Responsibilities will include engaging in methodological work supporting the mission and funding mechanisms of the “Center” (Biostatistics Consulting and Interdisciplinary Research Collaboration Lab (Biostat CIRCL)). This will include developing and conducting research projects as part of the Center as well as independent research collaborations. The faculty member will be expected to prepare applications for contract and/or grant funding. The faculty member will support the implementation of the biostatistics collaborative research model by leading the methodological contributions to interdisciplinary biomedical research teams. These contributions may include designing studies, overseeing the generation and/or management of data, leading or conducting analyses, offering innovative methodological solutions, and interpreting empirical findings in a manner that is appropriate for the biomedical research community and the public. Evidence will be demonstrated via abstracts, presentations at professional meetings, and scholarly publications in peer-reviewed journals. Faculty in this role will be critical for providing statistical, computational, and organizational contributions to projects and processes of the Center. No regularly-scheduled teaching activity will be assigned.
