Hours:40 hours per week, standard Monday- Friday 8:00am- 5:00pm, flexibility is required on evenings and weekends
FLSA status: Exempt
Earliest Start Date: As soon as possible.
Salary: $60,000 annually

Purpose of Position
Assistant Director of Student Support Services is an administrative role that oversees the development of programs, initiatives, and activities that facilitate an inclusive model for student support and enhancement of the quality of graduate student experience. In collaboration with the Assistant Dean, the Assistant Director is responsible for the assessment of graduate student needs and support programs. The Assistant Director works closely with academic units and other university departments to implement a holistic approach to graduate student support
Essential Functions
Provide oversight in the creation and enhancement of various student support initiatives including creating educational opportunities for graduate students by facilitating professional development initiatives for graduate students.
The Assistant Director will conceptualize and oversee strategic communication efforts including development of a student communication plan and strategies to inform and meaningfully engage all graduate and professional students.
Oversee the planning and implementation of graduate induction and transition programs including First Semester Graduate Experience and web-based orientation modules.
Closely work with the Assistant Dean to plan, coordinate, and implement the annual GradExpo research symposium and the Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition.
In collaboration with the Assistant Dean for the Graduate School, collects, organizes and analyzes graduate student data to identify trends and risk factors, and oversees the implementation of intervention programs.
Manage the student success helpdesk and promptly respond to students needs and questions and design effective ways to link students to helpful resources across campus.
Provide supervision and mentorship to Student Success and Retention as well as Outreach and Recruitment Coordinators.
Works with students of concern and serves as a case manager on the university's Student Behavior Intervention Team
Complies with all State and University policies.
Other duties may be assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's Degree
and
Experience: Three years of experience, related to the statement of duties and responsibilities; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated experience with customer service, team-oriented skills, strong written and verbal communications skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree and 2 years of experience in higher education administration
Experience working with graduate students and on graduate education issues
