Position Summary
The Assistant Men's Basketball Coach-3rd Assistant assists the Head Men's Basketball Coach in all aspects of the Men's Basketball program. Primary tasks include but are limited to coaching, student-athlete development, recruiting, and team practices. The Assistant Men's Basketball Coach-3rd Assistant reports to the Head Men's Basketball Coach.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

• Ability to effectively recruit, coach and teach highly talented student-athletes.
• Ability to effectively scout opponents and break down game video.
• A proven record in following directives and being responsible for assigned tasks.
• Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment as needed.
• Ability to effectively apply budgeting and fiscal planning techniques within financial constraints.
• Ability to effectively establish and maintain effective work relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the public.
• Ability to communicate effectively - orally, by phone, in person, via social media and in writing.
• Ability to effectively respond to emergency situations in a timely manner.
• Demonstrated ability to market and promote UIW men's basketball.
• Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
• Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.

Required Education
Bachelor's Degree.

Required Work Experience
Two (2) years of basketball coaching experience at the college or university level. Note that experience at the graduate-assistant level will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications
Four (4) or more years of collegiate basketball coaching experience.

Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations
Must have a valid driver license, driving record that is insurable by UIW insurance carrier, and be at least 21 years of age, as required to drive for UIW.

Work Hours
Business hours of Mon-Fri 8am to 5pm with flexibility; extended hours as required, including weekends, evenings and some holidays based on team schedule.

Physical Demands
Typical for coach in this sport.
