Assistant Professor of Gaming

Department of Software Engineering and Game Development

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for full-time, tenure track Assistant Professor of Gaming faculty positions in the Department of Software Engineering and Game Development with a preferred start date of January 2025. These are nine-month contracted positions. These positions are for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.

Responsibilities

  • Nine-month position with optional summer teaching 
  • Teaching expectations include teaching the graduate and undergraduate courses in Software Engineering and Computer Game Development.
  • Faculty are expected to teach in a variety of instructional modalities, including face-to-face, hybrid, and online.
  • Scholarship/Research expectations include seeking external grants and publishing scholarly work. 
  • Service to the Department, College, University, and/or professional community is expected. 
  • Participating in course and program development activities. 
  • Participating in outreach and promotion activities.

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

An earned PhD, or foreign equivalent, in game design, game strategies, game development, game levels and interfaces, advanced game production, or a closely related field, with a computing/programming background in game design and development, is required for the position.
