As a Billing Specialist within the District Billing office at the East Central Public Health District,you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways.

Job Responsibilities
1. Serves as the Billing Specialist - Generates billing reports in electronic
system, reconciles, and corrects errors as needed for Medicaid, Medicare, and 3rd party billing.
2. Assist in providing guidance and training to County Health Departments as it relates to patient registration, updating demographics, entering insurance, collecting fees, and posting of payments into the electronic medical record.
3. Analyzes billing data and prepare reports, send invoices/RA break outs
to Accounting.
4. Quality Assurance Audits for County Health Departments.
5. Able to Work Aging Reports.
6. Posting of Insurance payments/client paper check payments into the
EHR electronically.
7. Verification of All Balance Due of clients balances within the EHR prior to sending out statements to clients.
Minimum Qualifications
Two years of related experience maintaining billing records, claims, and
statements. Experience with electronic medical records. Experience in
verifying insurance, co-pays, and co-insurances
Knowledge of GRITs and Medical Web Portals.
EMR Champion with end-user experience.
Skilled in the area of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Experience working in different web browsers.
Experience working with electronic medical records, billing, and working in a busy setting. Possess good time management skills, can handle multiple projects and prioritize.
Experience working with the public, a good communicator with excellent customer service skills, and the ability to complete work timely.
Verbal communications listening, multi-tasking, general math skills, promoting process improvement, problem solving, thoroughness, quality focus.
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
Must be motivated, self-starter, with a positive attitude.
Versatility, flexibility. and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.

DPH accepts educational credential recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the US Department of Education (DOE) will be considered. DPH will contact educational institutions to verify degree, diploma, licensure, etc.
