What we need 

We are seeking a Building Information Modeling (BIM) Coordinator to join our Structure and System Layout team within our Core Hardware Engineering organization. Your job will be to generate detailed Revit models and construction drawing sets in the creation of complex steel structures as part of large-scale automation systems within customer Distribution Centers. You will also be expected to utilize your steel component knowledge to continue implementation of leading edge, custom developed Revit templates related to design of large steel structures and Revit representations of advanced automation machinery. This opportunity will expose you to a wide variety of engineering teams within our organization as well as customer architects, structural engineers, construction leaders and leading-edge technologies in the automation and robotics industries.   

What we do 

The System Layout and Structural Engineering team is part of the Hardware Engineering organization, which is responsible for the Mechanical, Structural, and Electrical Engineering of the Symbot and the Structure, System Layout, and Electrical Distribution Systems. 

What you’ll do 

  • Exhibit solid working knowledge of Revit, including being able to utilize complex Revit families, views, browser structure, sheets, schedules, filters and similar Revit functions  
  • Create and manage a set of comprehensive project drawings, including plan views, elevations, details and schedules  
  • Perform detail level clash detection between the facility and the Symbotic automation system 
  • Exhibit fluency in both 2D and 3D layout and design 
  • Utilize your knowledge of structural steel components in the design of large steel structures 
  • Utilize your knowledge of structure design in tandem with multi-disciplinary trades such as MEP (Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing) 
  • Ability to travel up to 10% to support customer sites 

What you’ll need 

  • BS architectural or structural engineering degree a plus 
  • BIM or Revit specific certification a plus 
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the building industry 
  • Minimum 2 years of experience using Revit 
  • Fluency in both 2D and 3D space    
  • Knowledge of structural steel components a plus 

Other considerations

  • Up to10% of travel may be required. Employees must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.
  • The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed bi-weekly.
