In this job, you’ll join the Environmental Management System team responsible for building, implementing, communicating, and maintaining SCE’s environmental management system (EMS). You will work with environmental program managers and operational partners across the enterprise to build, implement and run an International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 14001 aligned EMS. You’ll lead cross-functional teams to ensure the effective implementation of changes impacting the EMS and coordinate the development of material changes to environmental programs and process to ensure that the company maintains a strong environmental compliance posture. You will interact regularly with SCE senior management and executives to provide innovative strategies and recommendations for ensuring strong implementation of environmental changes to help create a culture of continuous improvement.. Responsibilities
- Reviews monitoring plan gaps and partners with compliance leads to strengthen operations controls and reduce risk
- Implements business controls policies, standards, or operations procedures
- Optimizes internal controls, assess effectiveness and efficiency of operations, and improves reporting
- Develops and maintains complex financial models for financings and partnerships, including due diligence support
- Identifies potential gaps and implements appropriate strategies and tactics to address them
- Provides ongoing monitoring, management, and analysis of actual performance against the budget, as well as recommendations for forecast adjustments and reasoning
- Emphasizes actionable insights and recommendations, with specific tactics and strategies to be executed, based on financial data
- A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
Minimum Qualifications
- Seven or more years of experience working in a complex matrix organization implementing policies, processes, controls, and system improvements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Internal Control Specialist, Professional, or Auditor
- Bachelor’s or higher Degree
- PMP Certification
- Lean Six Sigma
- Experience with ISO 14001
- Ability to analyze complex regulatory and business problems and create innovative solutions
- Proven ability to rapidly learn and assimilate complex and technical information in unfamiliar situations and be able to effectively communicate it in a non-technical manner
Additional Information
- This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
