Currently, the Clarke County Health Department WIC (Women, Children and Infant) office is seeking a Clinic Nutrition Manager. Supervises, guides, and/or instructs the work assignments of subordinate staff. Manages and coordinates nutrition and dietetic services for the Clarke County WIC Office. Provides technical expertise in nutrition, lactation, and operations to staff. Overall management and administrative guidance, assesses needs, develops policies, and collaborates with others in provision of services to target populations. Per United State Department of Agriculture policies and procedures, provides nutrition counseling, breastfeeding support, recommends nutritional care plans, documents plans and progress in the medical records, and refers to community resources as appropriate.
As a Clinic Nutrition Manager within the Clarke County WIC Department at the Georgia Department of Public Health, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways.
Job Responsibilities
You will support the Department by utilizing your expertise to fulfill the following responsibilities:
- Assesses nutrition and diet-related health problems and available resources to determine present and forecast future needs.
- Develops and maintains WIC budgets.
- Determines the needs of nutrition department or public health program for personnel, supplies, and equipment.
- Develops orientation and ongoing continuing nutrition education for all staff.
- Develops, implements, and monitors standards for nutritional services.
- Participates in developing agency health policy and assuring that food and nutrition-related issues are included.
- Participates in strategic planning, identifying programs and services that should have a nutrition component and integrates plans into the overall agency health plan and budget.
- Plans, directs, and implements nutrition education programs.
- Ensures that WIC policy changes and processes are implemented in a timely manner.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in dietetics, human nutrition, foods and nutrition, nutrition education, food systems management or a closely related field from an accredited college or university , verification statement of completion of a didactic program accredited by The Academy of Nutrition& Dietetics, and four (4) years of job-related experience providing nutrition care to groups and individuals; or Two(2) years of experience at the lower level Dietitian/Nutritionist 2 (HCP022) or equivalent position.
Preferred Qualifications:
Registration as a Dietitian by the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics Commission on Dietetic Registration AND licensure as a Dietitian in the State of Georgia. Previous WIC experience strongly preferred. Supervisory experience preferred.
Annual Salary $57,500 plus generous benefits include 13 paid holidays, annual and sick leave, health insurance, and retirement plans.
