As a Compliance Investigator within the Office of Inspector General at the Georgia Department of Public Health, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways. 

Applicant preferably living in one of the following counties: Chatham, Bryan, Liberty, Long, McIntosh, Bulloch, Evans or Tombs. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Performs job responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Serves as job expert or organization resource in assigned areas. 
  • Assists in developing and administering policies, procedures, and plans. 
  • Assists in preparing comprehensive and detailed reports of investigation. 
  • Conducts investigations to ascertain facts and obtain evidence on alleged violations and misconduct; interviews witnesses and obtains statements.    
  • Monitors compliance with terms of licensure. 
  • Compiles and prepares summary reports, maintains case files and documentation of case resolutions, and tracking data for legal requirements. 
  • Conducts WIC Vendor Monitoring visits to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. 
  • Investigates complaints of frauds of abuse. 
  • Conducts WIC Vendor background investigations. 

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university
OR 
Associate's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND One year of related experience
OR
High school diploma or GED AND Two years of related experience.

Note: Some positions may require a valid driver's license.

Georgia Department of Public Health Commissioner and  leaders encourages all employees to engage in regular wellness activities and to make lifestyle choices that promote health and well-being.

The use of wellness breaks during the workday is authorized to support this philosophy and assist employees in meeting their wellness goals.  A maximum of 30 minutes in a given workday may be used to engage in wellness activities, generally in the form of two 15-minute breaks or one 30-minute break.

DPH accepts educational credential recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the US Department of Education (DOE) will be considered. DPH will contact educational institutions to verify degree, diploma, licensure, etc.
