Physical Requirements
This position requires regularly sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time and performing tasks with repetitive motions (such as typing), and regularly walking throughout the facility; and occasionally standing or walking with objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
Shift
Primarily Monday through Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm. Some additional evening, weekend, and/or holiday hours may be required in order to meet job and departmental business needs.
Job Summary
The Customer Relations Specialist will provide prompt, sensitive, and professional responses to patients and families regarding complaints or grievances. This position will also collaborate and serve as a liaison between patients, families, and/or surrogates and UK HealthCare staff and departments; will research and document obstacles to the delivery of service to proactively work on developing solutions; and adhere to UK Healthcare Behavioral Standards at all times.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
The ideal candidate for this position will have a proven track record of providing exceptional customer service; superior communications abilities with an emphasis on patient care, diplomacy, and sensitivity; and a strong background in utilizing Microsoft systems including Windows, Word, and Excel.

Preferred Education/Experience
A Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field and three or more years of paid employment experience in a similar position preferred.
