Description

Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Electronic & Cyber Laboratory Technician to work in our Spectrum Innovation department. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our REC facility with every other Friday off.

You will support control systems Research & Development of wireless and communication systems and infrastructure security laboratories. Assist in large range experiments and exercises in all mission areas. You will report to the manager for Spectrum Innovation.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Support scientists, engineers, analysts, and communication researchers in a multitude of laboratory duties.
  • Assist researchers in designing, assembling, maintaining, and modifying research equipment. Assemble equipment for R&D in accordance with detailed schematics.
  • Knowledge of design and electrical code requirements, heat loading, efficiency, and safety.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment and evaluate electrical assemblies for safety and security.
  • Compile and complete documentation as required both for operations and to assist researchers with specific R&D objectives. Analyze data in support of research objectives.
  • Assist with test range activities including experiments, demonstrations, and exercises.
  • Regularly inspect laboratories and lab equipment for electrical safety, heat loading, configuration management, and protective features for both personnel safety and security.
  • Continuously monitor laboratory equipment for safe and efficient operation.
  • Assist researchers with the procurement, inventory and maintenance of electronic components, laboratory materials and equipment required to establish and maintain communication and electronics lab capabilities.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Level 2: High School Diploma and 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Level 3: High School Diploma and 4 years of relevant experience.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "L" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.

Job Information: 

  • The pay range for this position is: Level 2 - min $25.18 - max. $41.54/ Level 3 - $29.46 $48.61. At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.
  • You are required to show a demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working environment.
  • TDP: This is a testing designated position; you will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment.
  • Multi-Level: This is a multi-level posting and you will be placed at the appropriate level dependent on depth and breadth of proven experience and skills.
