Job Summary

The person in this position:
  • Manages and/or leads complex injury prevention data analysis projects
  • Collaborates with other KIPRC and Cabinet of Health and Family Services epidemiologists using data produced from investigations
  • Is lead investigator for intrastate injury-related data transfers
  • Writes and modernizes standard operating procedures to align with newly written code
  • Regularly analyzes distribution and determinants of injuries, and occupational health conditions in datasets to identify injury and occupational health clusters and risk factors
  • Coordinates, implements, evaluates, and suggests improvements to existing injury surveillance systems
  • Uses statistical software to manage large injury surveillance databases
  • Coordinates complex public health investigations of injury clusters and occupational health conditions
  • Works with law enforcement, public health, medical examiner, coroner, healthcare, and other stakeholders on injury cluster investigations
  • Writes code to produce reports and generate data used for analytical outcome
  • Designs and administers advanced surveys and questionnaires to collect data on injury clusters and occupational health conditions
  • Produces and disseminates comprehensive investigative reports that include applicable administrative, engineering, behavioral and social control recommendations, when appropriate
  • Collaborates with Ky Dept for Public Health to align injury surveillance and prevention activities
  • Provides specialized knowledge of data linkage, geocoding, and is primary contact for intrastate injury related data transfers
  • Provides specialized knowledge of primary populations served
  • Collaborates with epidemiologists, stakeholders and UK Enterprise Data Warehouse to ensure data is used appropriately, so data can be used to aid priority demographics

A master’s degree in public health (MPH) and two years required experience OR A Master of Science degree in public health (MSPH)
