Job Responsibilities

The Field Service management position provides direct oversight of our Immunization Regional Consultants (13 staff), Vaccines for Children (VFC) training and compliance visits, and school audit and assessment activities.

In addition to the broad responsibilities listed above, this position is also responsible for the following duties:

  • Approval of Travel Request for each Field Staff team member. Staff are on constant travel status as they are responsible for completing various training and compliance visits with public and private providers in Georgia, enrolled in the VFC or Adult Vaccine Programs (AVP) 
  • Approval travel and leave request for direct reports according to DPH policy 
  • Serve as final review and approver and monitor compliance site visit progress in the appropriate federal database. 
  • Serve as CDC liaison for Georgia Specific VFC compliance questions and reporting (e.g., conducted through CDC’s PEAR and PAPA systems) 
  • Working with the Program Director and other section managers, complete areas of the Immunization and VFC grant application as assigned 
  • Work with state, district and local partners to help identify training needs and provide other technical assistance to internal and external partners when applicable.
This is a GRANT FUNDED position and subject to available grant funds.

Minimum Qualifications

Doctorate degree in a related filed from an accredited college or university AND Two years of management/supervisory experience in health care services.
OR
Master's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Three years of management/supervisory experience in health care services.
OR
Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Four years of management/supervisory experience in health care services OR Two years of experience at the lower level Mgr 2, Hlth Care (HCM011) or position equivalent.
Note: Some positions may require certification and/or licensure.

Employment Information

All approved teleworking employees must reside within the state of Georgia and depending on the responsibilities of the position, must live within reasonable driving distance of the agency’s primary worksite and be able to report to the office when required.  

Current State employees are subject to State Personnel Board rules regarding salary.

DPH accepts educational credential recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the US Department of Education (DOE) will be considered. DPH will contact educational institutions to verify degree, diploma, licensure, etc.

The candidate selected for this position may be subject to pre-employment drug screening and a criminal background check.
