Job Description

Position Summary: 

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated General Maintenance Worker to join our team. As a General Maintenance Worker, you will play a vital role in ensuring the proper functioning, safety, and aesthetic appeal of our facilities. Your responsibilities will include conducting maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems, and other building components. Responsibilities: 

- Perform basic repair and maintenance tasks using hand and power tools in a safe and effective manner. 

- Follow both oral and written instructions accurately. 

- Troubleshoot minor issues related to electrical, structural, plumbing, and equipment repair. 

- Conduct routine electrical repairs such as changing light bulbs, fluorescent lamps, and assisting in fixing light fixtures and ballasts. 

- Perform minor maintenance tasks, including painting, air filter replacement, and graffiti removal. 

- Address routine plumbing repairs like unclogging toilets, sinks, urinals, and fixing water leaks. 

- Test and maintain appropriate chemical levels in the pool and ensure the proper operation of pool equipment. 

- Maintain and clean mechanical equipment used in pool operations, including water filtration and chemical purification systems. 

- Assist with furniture assembly, picture hanging, bulletin board setup, and room arrangement. 

- Collaborate with staff to conduct scheduled maintenance inspections. 

- Respond promptly to emergency service requests and carry out necessary repairs. 

- Prioritize safety by following established safety procedures and identifying potential hazards. 

- Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, and equipment maintenance. 

- Coordinate and manage contractors and third-party vendors as needed. 

- Communicate effectively through verbal and written channels. 

- Proactively engage with site personnel on maintenance projects and tasks. 

- Create and maintain accurate logs, sharing pertinent information with the site team. 

- Exhibit project management skills to ensure tasks are completed efficiently. 

- Be available 24/7/365 to respond to emergencies promptly. 

- Adhere to safety protocols, which may include wearing respiratory protection during certain tasks. 

- Clean and maintain storm drains and related components using various tools. 

- Assist in maintaining play equipment and sports facilities in safe and optimal condition. 

- Fulfill other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations. 

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent. 

- Previous experience in maintenance, repair, or related field is preferred. 

- Proficiency in using hand and power tools safely and effectively. 

- Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. 

- Basic knowledge of pool operations and maintenance is a plus. 

- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and potentially hazardous environments. 

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. 

- Detail-oriented with a focus on safety and quality. 

- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks. 

- Comfortable with project management responsibilities. 

- Flexibility to be available for emergency response 24/7/365. 

- Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities. 

- Willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures and technologies.
