Position Summary
The Head Girl's Basketball Coach for St. Anthony Catholic High School is responsible for every aspect of the Girl's Basketball Program. The Head Girl's Basketball Coach coaches with St. Anthony's Core Values of: Honesty & Integrity, Service & Social Justice, Community, Scholarship, & Holistic Education. The Head Girl's Basketball Coach reports to the Athletic Director.
Essential Functions
Job Duties
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge to teach individual sport skills as well as team concepts and strategies.
- Effectively work with athletes with varied personality types.
- Effective communicator to athletes, parents, coaching staff, administration, and the greater community.
- Ability to communicate effectively with parents.
- Demonstrates the ability to teach fundamental skills and situational decision-making skills.
- Professional dress and appearance appropriate for coaching in game and practice situations.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
Required Education
High School Diploma or its equivalent.
Required Work Experience
- Two (2) years high school basketball experience or five (5) years of AAU (u16 or higher) coaching experience.
- College playing experience may substitute for high school coaching on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor degree;
- Playing experience on a varsity high school team or college level.
Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations
- Must have a valid CDL or the ability to obtain CDL within 3 months of hire.
- Insurable by UIW's insurance carrier.
Work Hours
PT coach practice hours are Mon-Fri after school (school days only) from 3:30-5:30pm. Game schedule attendance is mandatory.
