Requires handling of light-weight objects up to 20 pounds; standing, walking and sitting for extended periods of time.



Shift

Primarily Tuesday through Saturday, 8:30am – 5:00pm, with potential for evenings, overnights and some weekends and holidays per departmental need.



Job Summary

University of Kentucky HealthCare (UKHC) is currently seeking a full-time chaplain with primary responsibilities in palliative care. The chaplain will provide direct patient care, make spiritual assessments, prioritize pastoral care needs, provide sacraments or make provisions for such and address interfaith needs.



Other responsibilities will include preparing and provide memorial or worship services sensitive to the interfaith community, providing counseling, support and educational opportunities for health care team members.



Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

The ideal candidate will have a general understanding of basic skills (reading, writing, and math). Requires knowledge and skills such as maintaining records and files, general office work and interpersonal skills. Requires knowledge and skills of a professional area within health care typically obtained through experience or a four-year college degree.

Preferred Education/Experience

A Master of Divinity (preferred) or Master of Theology. Four units of Clinical Pastoral Education from an ACPE accredited training center; endorsement by a religious body as a chaplain and Board Certified or eligible for certification through the Association of Professional Chaplains (APC), National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC), or Neshama: Association of Jewish Chaplains (NAJC).
