Must be able to work for extended periods at a computer, be able to carry equipment (up to 35lbs) to locations around campus; walk on uneven surfaces; and climb ladders.

Job Summary
The University of Kentucky’s Industrial Hygiene Manager develops, implements, and manages a comprehensive industrial hygiene program designed to facilitate the UK mission while protecting faculty, staff, students, and visitors and the environment from the chemical, radiological, biological , and physical hazards. Develop and implement risk assessments and sampling protocols, maintain exposure information. Guide the auditing and evaluation activities in laboratories/facilities and the formulation/implementation of recommendations for achieving and maintaining compliance with applicable guidelines and regulations.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Drivers’ License preferred.
Must have the ability to plan, design, and implement industrial hygiene practices and procedures and compliance management plans and procedures in all areas of the institution.
Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication (oral and written) skills.

Preferred Education/Experience
Master’s degree in basic science (Chemistry, Physics, Biology), public health, or related discipline and hold a CIH or eligible. Five years experience in a professional IH role. Experience in an variety of settings including academic, medical, farms, utilities or research setting.
