Job Summary
The International Student Leadership Team consists of students who are interested in working with the UK International Center, International Student & Scholar Services and other departments on-campus in the many aspects of their work with international students. These student leaders will help promote events and programs, provide important services to UK students, and serve as peer mentors by assisting international students with their academic, cultural, and social adjustment to the United States & the University of Kentucky.
Responsibilities:
—Attend all training sessions;
—Commit to the role and responsibilities for the 2025 calendar year including orientation.
Spring 2025 Orientation: January 7-10, 2025;
Fall 2025 Orientation: August 16-20, 2025
—Execute international student orientation through facilitating presentations, leading small groups, and planning social events
—Actively participate in weekly meetings & hold weekly office hours: approximately 7 hours per week
—Support the ISSS by encouraging participation in and assisting with the coordination of cultural and academic programs
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Support the University and relate well with faculty, administrators, parents, and new students;
Must demonstrate integrity, responsibility, confidence, compassion, flexibility, and cultural sensitivity;
Possess the character, attitude, and academic success that serves as a good role model;
Must be able to meet responsibilities associated with the position.
