  • Collaborate with the IT Enterprise Architecture, Enterprise Transformation Services Customer Service portfolio, and Cybersecurity departments to ensure that technical project scope includes engineering services needed for successful transition and architectural alignment into IT Operations.
  • Provide strategic guidance, direction, and recommendations to planning of technology portfolios. Participates in strategic budget planning to meet strategic goals and operational efficiency with emphasis on application stability and product quality.
  • Comprehend continuous delivery and integration (DevOps), encourage cross-collaborative training, stay updated with agile quality and testing techniques, and champion lean methodologies to quicken the realization of value and aid transition from the SDLC to an agile framework.
  • Identifies project scope gaps with engineering services or recommend changes to project scope to drive closure.
  • Facilitate teams to effectively apply reporting and performance metrics to suggest and implement improvements in each domain for projects, operations, and enhancements.
  • Participates in engineering services process, project results, enhancements and operational needs to ensure IT operational & architectural standards are met using TOGAF framework.
  • Position will be responsible to identify short-term and long-term financial costs related to products/applications and drive decision making that would have impact on multi-million-dollar initiatives, including multi-year financial projections for ongoing capital and operational costs to maintain the products.
  • Establish and direct standards, protocols, and governances for the integration of complex systems. Conduct reviews to confirm that results align with quality standards and software development lifecycle requirements traceability.
  • Spearhead and supervise teams to guarantee products are free from defects, operate according to design, adhere to standards, and enhance both existing and new technology solutions.
  • Partner with our Managed Services Providers (MSP) and other 3rd party vendors to:
    • Establish performance expectations, provide oversight, monitor, analyze services performance metrics (productivity and quality), identify gaps, and recommend & implement process improvements to align with defined business strategy and outcomes.
    • Refine the quality of engineering services by examining defect reports and looking at post-implementation incident patterns to evaluate application stability and quality.
    • Conduct quality peer reviews throughout the SDLC process to ensure application stability, data integrity, and policy alignment.
    • Ensure that the quality and timeliness of resolution for application issues and operational activities are met within service level agreements and within business expectation.
    • Report on operational health to business and IT leadership; ensure satisfaction in the timely delivery of IT services to business; and drive service improvements within IT.

The essentials

  • Ten (10) or more years of IT experience.
  • One (1) or more years of experience as a Technical lead performing one or more of the following; implementing long-term strategies, engineering design, implementation, and decision support projects.
  • Two (2) or more years of experience integrating input from solution architecture and business requirements, designing, and developing models in an enterprise environment.
  • Three (3) or more years of technical experience in application development & maintenance of IT systems covering various leading-edge technologies (Ex\: SAP S4/ C4, JAVA, Microsoft O365, Cloud Architecture and Solutions, Snowflake, API’s etc.).
  • Two (2) or more years of specific technical experience in website engineering (HTML, PHP, CSS, JavaScript, Python, etc.).
  • Experience supporting application portfolio of large electric utility organization – Preferably supporting Customer Service Portfolios.

The preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Knowledge of API, integration, event driven, (micro) services architectures.
  • Experience working with development teams to build secure solution in an Agile & “traditional” SDLC and hybrid methodology environments.
  • Ability to collaborate with multi-functional teams located in different time zones.
  • Experience providing leadership and communicating progress on projects and operations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, and the ability to multitask.

You should know 

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
