Physical Requirements

Must be able to work from ladders or lifts up to 15 feet or higher, lift and carry 30 pounds, work in tight places for extended periods of time, able to distinguish colors, traverse campus while carrying or moving equipment in a reasonable amount of time, and sit or stand for long periods of time.



Shift

Monday-Friday (40 hrs/wk); Generally 7:30am – 4:30pm; and occasional overtime as needed. After hours and holiday on-call rotation scheduling is required.



Job Summary

Infrastructure Operations is seeking an ITS Electronic Technician Senior. This advanced-level position will serve as the lead technician for a designated shift cycle or special service area, while providing mentorship and coordination of junior staff to handle large-scale or complex projects that require multiple teams. Typical activities include, but are not limited to:
  • teaching, monitoring, and documenting special training programs
  • creating maintenance schedules
  • troubleshooting complex problems
  • assisting supervisors in the scheduling of staff and resources for installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic equipment and fiber/copper cabling to support the 24/7 operation of telecommunications services for all University and UK HealthCare departments
