Pay Rate: $42.97 per hour.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
- Performs physical & chemical, bacteriological, microscopic, and other tests or functions in environmental laboratory operations.
- Must operate Inductively Coupled Argon Plasma (ICP), Flow Injection Auto-Analyzer.
- (HACH QuikChem & FIA Lab Instrument) and other specialized laboratory equipment (ex. pH meter, Turbidity meter, Colorimeter, Bench Conductivity Analyzer, Bench Ammonia Analyzer, or alternate analytical instruments).
- Must be able to understand, follow, and carry-out Standard Operating Procedures for laboratory analysis, including preparation of reagents, standards, media, and chemicals utilized in analysis.
- Must have knowledge of analytical chemistry, understand the concept of microbiological testing, and understand other concepts applicable to laboratory practices.
- Must have knowledge and ability to handle strong acids and bases, such as concentrated Sulfuric Acid, Nitric Acid, Sodium Hydroxide, etc.
- Must operate the wet and dry heat sterilizer and automatic laboratory glassware washing machine, when required.
- Answers telephone, complete calls and relays information, as necessary.
- Assists employees of a higher classification, as assigned.
- Performs other similar or less skilled work, as assigned.
- Operates usual office machines.
Qualifications
Education/Experience/Background:
- High School Diploma/GED is required.
- Associate's Degree in Science (Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science) required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Must have ability to work on computer, use basic Office & Google tools ( ex. Excel, Access, Word), instrument software, Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and perform basic math skills.
- Must have manual dexterity to work with small bottles and small buttons.
- Must possess audio and visual acuity.
- Must be able to smell gasses and/or odors.
Required Certification/Licenses/Training:
- Must possess a valid Motor Vehicle License.
