Lecturer of Computer Science

Department of Computer Science

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for multiple full-time, non-tenure track faculty positions as Lecturer of Computer Science in the Department of Computer Science with a preferred start date of January 2025. These positions are nine-month contracted positions. These positions are for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.

A commitment to excellence in teaching and service to the university, department and/or discipline is expected of all non-tenure track faculty. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Teach 4/5 courses per term (fall/spring) in computer science at the undergraduate and/or graduate level. This is a 90% teaching and 10% service workload model.
  • Teaching courses online, hybrid or face-to-face as per department need.
  • Service to Department/College/University/professional community is expected.

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

To teach undergraduate courses:

  • A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Computer Science or a closely related discipline is required.

OR

  • A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non-related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline is required.

To teach graduate courses:

  • A Terminal/Doctorate degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Computer Science or a related discipline is required.
