Lecturer of Mechanical Engineering Technology or Lecturer of Electrical Engineering Technology

Department of Engineering Technology

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position as Lecturer of Mechanical Engineering Technology or Lecturer of Electrical Engineering Technology in the Department of Engineering Technology with a preferred start date of January 2025. This is a nine-month contracted position. This position is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.

A commitment to excellence in teaching and service to the university, department and/or discipline is expected of all non-tenure track faculty. Responsibilities include the following at a minimum:

· Teaching undergraduate courses in electrical engineering technology or mechanical engineering technology such as electrical principles, high frequency systems, electric machines, controls, engineering design graphics or CNC machining as well as courses such as statics, dynamics, strength of materials, fluid mechanics, materials science, thermodynamics, machine design, computer aided engineering, and/or related laboratory courses.

· Service to Department, College, University, and/or professional community is expected.

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

Required Qualifications Include

· A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology or a closely related discipline is required.

OR

· A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non-related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline is required.

Preferred Qualifications Include

· An earned Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Engineering Education, Engineering Management, or the foreign equivalent is preferred.

· Professional Engineering licensure

· Record of past teaching in higher education

· Expertise in electrical principles, high frequency systems, electric machines, controls, engineering design graphics, CNC machining, manufacturing, mechanics, and/or welding

· Certified SolidWorks Professional Certification or better
