About the role:

CHANEL is looking for an eager, growth-minded individual to join our growing Distribution Operations team in Piscataway, NJ. You will play a leading role in managing the daily activities in a semi-automated distribution center, as well as leading projects to continue to evolve the technology and physical layout. This role interfaces with supply chain and transportation team members and is a key partner for the F&B business. Our ideal candidate will have a minimum 5 years of experience and a passion for leading change within our operation.

What you will bring to the team:

  • Oversee day-to-day distribution operations and warehouse activities, including planning, assigning, and directing work for union associates to ensure optimal efficiency.
  • Lead warehouse functions related to Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Warehouse Control Systems (WCS) to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Manage a team of over 100 union associates and equipment resources, ensuring seamless performance of daily operational tasks.
  • Foster employee growth by providing constructive feedback and conducting performance reviews, preparing team members for future opportunities.
  • Serve as the Project Manager for peak season initiatives and continuous improvement projects, ensuring readiness for high-demand periods and implementing enhancements.
  • Engage in long-term planning and projects focused on automation, capacity, and throughput to support organizational growth.
  • Create and maintain business process definitions, procedures, and training materials to equip associates with the knowledge needed for success.
  • Translate technical and functional user requirements into actionable solutions, bridging the gap between operations and technology.
  • Lead and support operations transformation initiatives, focusing on the design, testing, and implementation of revised business processes and systems.

Position Logistics:

  • Work-Place Essential: This role requires 5 days in person office at the designated location/office.
  • College degree in applicable field preferred or a minimum of 5 years applicable supervisory experience in a distribution environment
  • Strong supervisory skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (preferably Manhattan Associates)
  • Familiarity with highly automated distribution (preferably Goods to Person / ASRS)
  • Strong familiarity with warehouse control (WCS) and distribution systems, processes, and equipment
  • Ability to interpret corporate policies and rules and apply to daily activities
  • Familiarity with LEAN concepts and continuous process improvement models
  • Ability to work second shift and potential Saturday to support e-commerce operation.

Compensation:

  • The anticipated base salary range for this position is $69,100 through $105,000 Base salary is one component of the total compensation for this position. Other forms of variable pay [may/will] be offered for this position. Other components [may/will] include bonus potential, benefits, and/or perks.
