The Natural Gas Scheduler (Northeast) responsibilities include forecasting customer requirements, communicating requirements to traders, submitting nominations to LDC’s and pipelines, tracking the flow of gas and supply imbalances and entering volume and cost information into SolArc Natural Gas and Safari. The position requires the individual to work directly with traders, account managers, other suppliers, and customers to coordinate the delivery of natural gas and minimize imbalance costs and penalties.

  • Forecast the daily requirements of customers communicate changes in required quantities to traders
  • Nominate the required daily natural gas quantities to LDC’s and pipelines under the supervision of Senior Schedulers
  • Develop a strong knowledge of the rules, procedures, and timelines for all pipelines and LDC’s within a designated market area and gain familiarity with all pipelines and LDC’s on which Sprague operates
  • Track and reconcile nominations, deliveries, imbalances, and actual customer usage
  • Enter volume and cost information into SolArc Natural Gas and Safari and verify third party invoices for sales and purchases as they become available
  • Respond to inquiries from customers, consultants, account managers and accountants
  • Other duties as required     

This opportunity will be in-person at our Portsmouth, NH office.

Qualified candidates for this role will have the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a focus in business or math
  • Prior energy industry experience is a plus
  • Advanced computer literacy with Microsoft Excel
  • Strong mathematical aptitude
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment, and relate to customers, outside contacts and fellow employees.
