As a Public Health Licensed Practice Nurse within the Northeast District. At the District Two, Georgia Department of Public Health, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways. District 2 Public Health serves 13 counties in Northeast Georgia, including Banks, Dawson, Forsyth, Franklin, Habersham, Hall, Hart, Lumpkin, Rabun, Stephens, Towns, Union, and White counties. One of the fastest growing regions in the state, District 2 includes rural and urban communities with diverse public health challenges.

Job Responsibilities

LPN 2:
Under general supervision, provides assistance to public health nurses and county programs. Provides care which includes providing medical treatments, administering medication and giving injections. Assigned to specific in home duties within the scope of an LPN practice in public health

Additional Duties:

• Knows vaccine schedules for children and adults
• Gives correct needed vaccines to children and adults
• Trains in lab to serve as a backup
• Other duties as assigned
•  Handles scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records. 
• Assists in the home visits by taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, and assisting the nurse as needed.
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

LPN 3:
Vocational/Technical degree in licensed practical nursing from an accredited college AND Four years of LPN public health experience AND current Georgia license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse AND CPR certification.
