Nationally certified Pharmacy Technician by either PTCB (PTCE) or NHA (ExCPT); Registered with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire.
Physical Requirements
This position requires intermittently sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time and performing tasks with repetitive motions; and occasionally standing or walking with objects weighing up to 25 pounds; and lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing up to or over 50 pounds. Also involves some job-related travel (less than 10% of time); exposure to risk of injury from moving, lifting, or positioning patients, equipment, or materials; and exposure to hazardous chemicals and fumes including waste, and blood-borne or airborne pathogens
Shift
Shift is a rotating shift currently working between the hours of 7:00am and 5:00pm Monday through Friday. Hours, rotation schedule, and operating days of the week may change based on the needs of the department. Position participates in holiday rotation shift with other Ambulatory Pharmacy Services.
Job Summary
Act as liaison between pharmacy and ambulatory clinics/ infusion center to maximize patient care and satisfaction. May include providing patient education, call back, and refill telephone services while tracking patient status through pharmacy clinical documenting software according to available policies and protocols. Triage clinical and access issues to clinical pharmacist when appropriate. Follow URAC, ACHC, USP <797>, USP <795>, USP <800> standards not limited to but including PHARM Core, Patient Management, Compounding and Operations. Follow scope of standards and polices of Specialty Pharmacy Services and may include dispensing, procurement, mail order shipping, cold chain distribution, storage, compounding and supply management. Person is responsible for following appropriate shipping requirements, providing quality measures testing of cold chain packaging, monitoring complaints regarding shipping errors, turnaround times, and tracking of products after leaving facility, if available. Under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, may include gathering components and supplies, measuring ingredients, compounding preparations (both sterile and non-sterile), packages and labels patient specific medication doses according to all federal, state, UK enterprise and departmental regulations. Job may also include maintaining and cleaning compounding environment and equipment in accordance with UK enterprise, state and federal regulations in addition to departmental standard operating procedures and manufacturer guidelines. Completes all mandatory training and education. Case Management system, customer service, Excel Database, delivery service databases, Scriptpro or current prescription processing system.

The starting pay for this position was recently adjusted. The minimum hourly rate for this position will now be $18.50/hour. All pay rates will be based on candidate’s experience.

Preferred Education/Experience
One year of previous work experience (in a related field). Prefer previous pharmacy tech experience or work/classes in medical field. Hired candidate must maintain state licensure in good standing. Must have 1 year of full-time (or pro-rated) pharmacy technician experience and must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).
