Required License/Registration/Certification

Registered with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire. Must maintain annual registration thereafter and remain in good standing.



Physical Requirements

This position requires regular sitting or standing at a computer workstation for extended periods of time and performing tasks with repetitive motions; and occasionally standing or walking with objects weighing up to 25 pounds; and lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing up to or over 50 pounds. Must be able to reach above shoulder level as well as stoop to reach items. Also involves some exposure to risk of injury from moving, lifting, or positioning equipment, or materials; and exposure to hazardous chemicals and fumes including waste, cuts/punctures, and blood-borne or airborne pathogens.



Shift

Current schedule is a rotating mostly 4 day or 5 day per week schedule(dayshift) with hours to equate 40 hours per week to meet FTE min. May include rotating shifts during the hours of operation of KY Clinic Pharmacy 7:30am – 9:00pm, 8:30am – 5:00pm Sat/Sun to include weekend and an occasional holiday shift. Hours of operation and location assigned are subject to change based on the needs of the department and future growth.



Job Summary

This position will assist pharmacists with medicine preparation and distribution in the KY Clinic Pharmacy and/or other retail pharmacy sites operating under University of Kentucky Pharmacy Services. Primary duties include filling and distributing prescriptions in a busy retail-based setting and providing exceptional customer service to pharmacy customers and patients. The successful Pharmacy Technician will be reliable, punctual, works well within a team, and possesses exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Pharmacy Technicians for Ambulatory Pharmacy Services will play an integral role in ensuring overall customer satisfaction and that a positive patient experience are achieved for all Chandler and Good Samaritan retail pharmacy patrons. The ability and desire to work and grow in a fast-paced, complex, and ever-changing field within a dynamic and cutting-edge pharmacy is essential for individuals in this position. All pay rates will be based on candidates experience.

Preferred Education/Experience

Retail/hospital pharmacy experience or work in a related field is preferred. Training will be provided to the selected candidate.
